titleOfInvention Production of 3-mercapto-5-amino-(1h)-1,2,4-triazole
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the compounds for image pattern recording compositions which can be developed thermally, in a high yield by making 2,5-diamino-1,3,4- thiadiazole or its salts as a starting raw material to contact with base in a suitable solvent. n CONSTITUTION: The 2-5-diamino-1,3,4-thiadiazole or its salts is reacted with bases [example: alkali (earth) metal hydroxide or carbonate, organic amine, or the like, especially sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide] in a suitable solvent (especially, aqueous alcohol solvent is optimal), preferably at 60-100°C to obtain 3-mercapto-5-amino-(1H)-1,2,4-triazole. During the reaction, it is preferable that the reacting mixture is cooled, neutralized, and then filtrated to obtain the target product. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
