abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title fiber, excellent in dusting and chemical resistance and antistatic property and having a core component consisting of a thermoplastic polymer containing an electrically conductive substance, a sheath component consisting of a fiber-forming polymer and a hollow part with a cross-sectional shape in which the core part has plural sharp projecting parts. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A thermoplastic polymer (e.g. polyethylene) containing an electrically conductive substance (e.g. carbon black) is used as a core component and (B) a fiber-forming polymer (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) is used as a sheath component. These two components are conjugately melt extruded using a nozzle for conjugate hollow spinning and hot-drawn to provide the aimed conjugated hollow fiber having a hollow part (C) and a cross-sectional shape in which the core component (A) has 3W8 sharp projection parts and all of the minimum distances (Wi) between the mutual adjacent sharp projecting parts are ≤5μ while all the minimum thicknesses (Vi) of the sheath component formed between the sharp projecting parts and the outer periphery of the sheath component (B) are ≥0.5μ and at least one thereof (Vi) is <2.5μ. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
