abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the subject enzyme, useful as a reagent for quantitatively determining polyamines and used in determining the polyamines in a biological sample, by cultivating a microorganism, belonging to the genus Pseudomonas and capable of producing putrescine oxidase. n CONSTITUTION: A microorganism (e.g.,Pseudomonas.fluorescens IFO-3925), belonging to the genus pseudomonas and capable of producing putrescine oxidase is cultivated and the aimed enzyme is then collected from the above-mentioned culture.
