titleOfInvention Aramid composition and its production
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition having a nonsticky surface to which foreign matter can hardly adhere, excelling in resistance to chemicals and bending fatigue, having a low frictional coefficient and resisting to the buildup of static electricity, by hot-pressing a powder obtained by mixing an aqueous suspension of a tetrafluoroethylene resin with an aromatic polyamide powder and drying the mixture and extruding the dried mixture. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic polyamide (A) having at least 85mol.%, based on the total repeating units, m-phenyleneisophthalamide units and being in the form of a porous powder of a diameter of 30-100mu and composed of agglomerated uniform primary particles having a diameter as fine as about 1mu is added to an aqueous suspension (B) of 0.01-10wt.% fibrillated tetrafluoroethylene resin and mixed and dried in a dryer to obtain a component A powder coated with component B. This powder is hot-pressed and is extruded through a heated molding die into any desired shape such as a fiber or a film.
