abstract PURPOSE: To nearly completely prevent leakage of tritium by forming the title vessel of 1st vessels which house the tritium and a 2nd vessel which houses the 1st vessel and packing catalysts and adsorbents in the space between the two vessels. n CONSTITUTION: A hydrogen occluding material 2 is housed in the cylindrical 1st vessel 1 and a suitable number of the vessels 1 are housed in the cylindrical 2nd vessels 4. A holding frame provided in the vessel 4 is formed of a cylindrical part 4 and vane parts 51 projecting radially on the circumference of said part. The vessel 4 is positioned by contact of the outside circumferential end of the vane parts 51 with the inside peripheral face of the vessel 4. The vessels 1 are fixed and mounted by proper means in the cylindrical part 50. A suitable number of the adsorbers 3 are mounted on the inside peripheral face of the vessel 4. The adsorbers 4 are formed of a mixture composed of the catalysts which oxidize the tritium to tritium water and the adsorbents which adsorb the tritium water. The adsorbers 3 are housed in, for example, thin cylindrical containers made of wire nets at the top and bottom in order to prevent the powdering of the adsorbents and catalysts. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
