abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain in high efficiency the title polymer of high heat resistance, having syndiotactic structure, by using a catalyst, i.e. a combination of a Ti- compound with a specific product formed by contact between trimethylaluminum and water. n CONSTITUTION: The objective polymer can be obtained by using a catalyst consisting of (A) a titanium compound and (B) a product formed by contact between trimethylaluminum and water, with ≤50wt.% of the high magnetic field fraction in the methyl proton signal region based on Al-Ch 3 bond, measured by the proton nuclear magnetic resonance absorption technique. It is suggested that said component B be prepared by selecting such conditions as to extend the contact reaction time between the trimethylaluminum and water, raise the temperature of the contact reaction, or increase the ratio of the water to the trimethylaluminum. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
