titleOfInvention Unsaturated polyester resin composition
abstract PURPOSE: To provided an unsatd. polyester resin compsn. improved in in-mold moldability, appearance, etc., and to prevent the formation of internal voids, by adding polyvinyl butyral to a resin compsn. comprising an unsatd. polyester resin, a crosslinking agent, a curing initiator and a compounding ingredient. n CONSTITUTION: An unsatd. polyester resin (A) (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate) is mixed with a crosslinking agent (B) (e.g., styrene monomer), a curing initiator (C) (e.g, dicumyl peroxide), a compounding ingredient (D) (e.g., glass fibers or zinc stearate), and polyvinyl butyral (E) to prepare an unsatd. polyester resin compsn. The polyvinyl butyral suitably has a degree of polymn. of 500W3000 and a butyral group content of at least 40mol%. The wt. ratio of component E to (component A + component B) is suitably in the range of 5/95W25/75. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
