titleOfInvention | Production of 3,5-diamino-2,4,6-triiodobenzoic acid |
abstract | PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain the title compound useful as an intermediate for roentgenographic contrast media with extremely low intravenous toxicity, by concentrating and recovering hydrochloric acid from a reaction system and repeatedly using the resultant hydrochloric acid for reaction. n CONSTITUTION: 3,5-Diamino-2,4,6-triiodobenozoic acid is obtained. In the process, hydrochloric acid from a reaction system is concentrated, recovered and repeatedly used for reaction. Iodine monochloride as an iodinating agent is reacted with 3,5-diaminobenzoic acid in an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid to provide the aimed compound. In the reaction, the resultant filtrate after filtering off crystals of the aimed compound is treated with active carbon to remove a very small amount of iodine and organic substances. After concentration at a temperature within the range of 100W109°C, the hydrochloric acid in a high concentration is recovered and repeatedly used as a solvent for the next reaction to simplify waste liquor treatment. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
