titleOfInvention Production of chlorphenesin carbamate containing l-isomer of chlorphenesin carbamate in high concentration
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the above compound having high l-isomer content and useful as a skeletal muscle relaxant, etc., having lowered side effect, in high efficiency, by contacting a plant cell with a racemic chlorphenesin carbamate together with a sugar, thereby converting the d-isomer to a glycoside and allowing the glycoside to be taken in the plant. n CONSTITUTION: A racemic chlorphenesin carbamate is made to contact with a plant cell (e.g., cell of red perilla) in a medium containing a sugar (e.g., glucose) and the cell is cultured to convert the d-isomer of chlorphenesin carbamate into a glycoside and allowing the take-in of the glycoside into the plant. The cultured cell and the culture liquid are separated, the culture liquid is extracted with an ether, the ether layer is separated and the ether is distilled off from the extract liquid to obtain the objective compound containing the chlorphenesin carbamate l-isomer in high concentration. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
