abstract | PURPOSE: To facilitate separation of product and obtain an optically active substance, by subjecting a carbinol derivative having fluorine or fluoroalkyl to asymmetric hydrolysis using an enzyme immobilized on honeycomb structure. n CONSTITUTION: An enzyme such as lipase is immobilized in a honeycomb structure of porous ceramic such as cordierite, mullite or alumina, preferably having about 1W30mm diameter corresponding to hole, about 50W85% opening ratio and about 25W40% porosity. Then the immobilized enzyme is brought into contact with a carbinol derivative (e.g., ester) having fluorine or fluoroalkyl to carry out asymmetric hydrolysis and after the reaction proceeds at prescribed amount, the immobilized enzyme is removed from the reaction system. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
