titleOfInvention Use of ginkgo extract for suppression of inflammation
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a pharmaceutical preparation in which an extract from dried leaves of ginkgo tree or its component (ginkgolide) is used as an anti- inflammatory agent to suppress the inflammation cascade or the biochemicil inflammation reaction in no need of consideration on its time continuation. n CONSTITUTION: An extract from dried leaves of ginkgo tree, in some cases, an injection solution containing a supporter, or an oral preparation for example, ampoule for drinking, sugar-coated tablets or capsules or its component (ginkgolide) are used as an anti-inflammatory agent and useful for initial treatment of skin burn (including sun burn), skin burn with hot water, radiation damage, combined injury, frostbite, shock, blood poisoning, pancreatitis, tourniquet syndrome and Palacos reaction. It can be used even in the case that a known combination preparation such as acetylsalicylic acid and a xanthine derivative reveals non-tolerance and it is quite unnecessary to consider such time continuation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
