titleOfInvention Production of inorganic fiber
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a ceramic or carbon fiber, etc., having excellent winding property in spinning and without breaking, fluffing, etc., by spinning an organic compound, adding an aqueous solution of PVA as a fiber size to the resultant organic precursor fiber, subsequently infusibilizing.calcining the fiber. n CONSTITUTION: An organic compound (preferably an organosilicon polymer such as polycarbosilane, polysilastyrene, polycarbosilastyrene copolymer or polysilazane) is spun and an aqueous solution (preferably 0.01W0.1wt.% concentration) of PVA (preferably substance having ≥70% saponification degree and ≥500W5000 polymerization degree) is added as a fiber size. The resultant fiber is then infusibilized preferably at 100W400°C for 10minW10hr and subsequently calcined preferably in an atmosphere of an inert gas at 1000W1400°C to provide an aimed fiber. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
