titleOfInvention Steroid ointment preparation
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a steroid ointment preparation having enhanced physicochemical stability by compounding tipredane, propylene glycol (a solvent), a dispersing agent for propylene glycol and a buffer solution. CONSTITUTION: This preparation is obtained by compounding (A) (11β, 17α)-17(ethylthio)-9α-fluoro-11β3-hydroxy-l7-(methylthio)androsta-1, 4-dien-3-one (tipredane), (B) a solvent for tipredane such as propylene glycol, (C) a dispersing agent for propylene containing water and cetearyl alcohol or ceteareth-20 or their mixture, (D) a buffer solution for making pH of the preparation neutral or alkaline, (E) a skin softening agent such as a mineral oil or a polysilane oil, (F) a thickening agent such as a non-acidic long-chain fatty acid wax, and optionally a lubricant (e.g. silicone) and an antioxidant (e.g. sodium metabisulfite).
