NEW MATERIAL: A compound of formula I [R 1 is OCF 3 or β,β,β-trifluoroethoxy; R 2 , R 3 are each H, 1-5C lower alkyl, 5-8C cyclo lower alkyl, formula II (R 4 is H, 1-5C alkoxy, amino, etc.), formula III, formula IV or R 2 , R 3 together form formula V ((n) is 4-7), formula VI ((m) is 3-6) or formula VII, etc.] or its salt and its solvate. n EXAMPLE: Trans-2-[2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethyl-3-hydroxy-6-(trifluoromethoxy)-4H-1- isoindol-1-one. n USE: Pharmaceuticals; antihypertensive drugs. n PROCESS: The compound of formula I is obtained by allowing a new compound of formula VIII (R 1 1 is R 1 or radical or atom which is convertible into R 1 ) or a compound of formula IX (X is Cl, Br, or I; (p) is 1 or 2) to react by heating under the alkylating conditions capable of facilitating desired bond-formation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO |
