titleOfInvention Inorganic nonaqueous electrolyte battery
abstract PURPOSE:To increase discharge capacity by specifying the area ratio of O15 to C15 in the peak obtained by X-ray photo-electron spectrometry on the surface of a carbon particle to 0.02 or less. CONSTITUTION:A functional group containing oxygen (O) on the surface of carbon particle is removed by drying treatment in a vacuum at high temperature or heat treatment in a reduction atmosphere to increase a reactive site (active site). The amount of carbon is thereby decreased, and the amount of active material such as lithium and thionyl chloride is increased according to the amount of decreased carbon to increase the discharge capacity. The area ratio of O15 to C15 [O15/C15 (area ratio)] in the peak obtained by X-ray photo-electron spectrometry on the surface of a carbon particle in a positive electrode is 0.02 or less. An inorganic nonaqueous electrolyte battery having large discharge capacity is obtained.
