abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition having excellent appearance, acid resistance, solvent resistance, water resistance and durability and suitable as a clear paint for the top-coating of automobile, by compounding a specific acrylic polymer containing acid group with a specific acrylic polymer containing epoxy group. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) an acrylic copolymer composed of an acid group-containing monomer and other copolymerizable monomer and having an acid value of 30W150mgKOH/g and a number-average molecular weight of ≥3,500 with (B) an acrylic copolymer composed of an epoxy group-containing monomer and other copolymerizable monomer and having an epoxy equivalent of 200W1,000g/eq and a number- average molecular weight of ≤5,000. The equivalent ratio of the acid group of the component A to the epoxy group of the component B is 1:0.5W0.5:1.
