| abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain a multi-colored and multi-layered synthetic resin plate having excellent decorative characteristics, optical characteristics and thermoformability and being used for lighting covers, displays, signboards, etc., by applying a cast polymn. method of a partially polymerized methyl methacrylate polymer. CONSTITUTION:A polymerizable compsn. contg. a coloring agent, the main component of which is partially polymerized methyl methacrylate and having a viscosity of 300-3,000cps is cast and cured between at least two synthetic resin plates. As the partially polymerized methyl methacrylate polymer, beside a partially polymerized polymer of methyl methacrylate, partially polymerized polymers of mixtures wherein 50wt.% or less acrylate such as methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate or arom. vinyl compd. such as styrene, alpha-methylstyrene are added to methyl methacrylate to improve the processability and physical properties of the products can be cited. As the synthetic resin plates, thermoplastic synthetic resin plates such as those of polymethyl methacrylate, polyvinyl chloride, ABS, polystyrene, or polycarbonate can be used. These resin plates may be pref. used by adding thereto coloring materials, if necessary. |
