abstract Steviosides can be obtained from dried material from Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni plants by extraction and purification, where an extract is obtained by treatment in water at a temperature from room temperature to about 65 DEG C and with stirring and subsequent filtration or centrifugation and is treated with calcium hydroxide, after which a precipitate is obtained by filtration or centrifugation and is treated with a strongly acid ion exchange resin and subsequently with a weakly basic ion exchange resin, and is filtered and dried.
