titleOfInvention Non-orally administering agent containing double-stranded rna
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a non-orally administering agent containing a double stranded RNA, capable of defending an immune system by activating a natural antiviral pathway and useful for treating a disease in a localized body compartment in a human or an animal. n CONSTITUTION: This non-orally administering agent is obtained by containing a double-stranded RNA, preferably a mis-matched double-stranded RNA as a complex of a polyinosinic acid with a polycitidylic acid containing one uracil or guanidyl base in 5 to 30 bases [e.g.; r I n .(C 12-14 , U) n or r I n .(C 20 , G) n ]. As the disease treated by the administering agent, a viral disease (containing HIV, herpes virus and cytomegalovirus), an inflammatory disease, a disease caused by a sensitive bacteria, a disease caused by a fungus or a protozoa and further Alzheimer disease are cited, and as a compartment for the administration, a fluid compartment of a human body such as saliva, tear, a serous exudate, a serous transudate and cerebrospinal fluid are cited. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
