titleOfInvention Long chain n-alkyl-alpha-alkylnitrones and method for using them as stabilizer
abstract NEW MATERIAL: The compd. of the formula (T is a 8-18C alkyl; G is H, CH 3 or C 2 H 5 ; E is a 5-17C alkyl, where G+E=7 to 17). n EXAMPLE: N-decyl-α-nonylnitrone. n USE: Usuful as stabilizers for organic materials easy to be subjected to thermal, oxidative or ultraviolet decomposition, particularly excellent stabilizers for the working of synthetic polymers such as polyolefine and are particularly effective for fiber which can easily be blended in an advantageous stage prior to the production of the product, but can be used also in the surface working of the finished product and are applied to the surface of fiber, particularly by executing spinning finish between melt spinning. n PREPARATION: For example, a long chain N,N-dialkylamine or long chain N,N-dialkylhydroxyamine is reacted with an oxidizer such as an H 2 O 2 aq. soln. in a solvent such as n-propanol in the presence of a catalyst such as sodium tungstate dibydrate to obtain the compd. of the formula. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
