titleOfInvention Acrylated diol and its production
abstract NEW MATERIAL: The 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol ester of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid. n USE: Useful for the production of condensed polymers. It is used for coating, adhesives, coating and sealing compositions, compositions for molding and forming, compositions for impregnation, bonding agents or the like, and crosslinkable polymers are useful particularly as protective coating for the wear resistance, heat resistance and solvent resistance thereof. n PREPARATION: 2-Mono or 2,2-diorganic group substituted 5,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-dioxane is esterified by using a carbonyl-compd. to obtain the compd. The compd. is the diol with an acrylate or methacrylate pendant group which is not contaminated by monool, triol and polyol. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
