titleOfInvention 4-acetylamino-3-fluorophenoxyacetic acid and its production
abstract NEW MATERIAL:4-Acetylamino-3-fluorophenoxyacetic acid. n USE: A starting substance for 2-[4-substituted-7-fluoro-2H-1,4-benzoxazine-3H(4H)- one-6-yl-]-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-isoindole-1,3-dione, a herbicide. n PREPARATION: The titled compound is obtained by reaction of 4-acetylamino-3- fluorophenol with a haloacetic acid such as chloroacetic or bromoacetic acid in the presence of a dehydrogenating agent such as sodium hydroxide, in a solvent such as water or dioxane at 20W200°C to give the title compound. The amount of the haloacetic acid used is 1W5 equivalents per mol. of the 4- acetylamino-3-fluorophenol and the dehydrohalogenating agent is 1W5 equivalents. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
