titleOfInvention Method for exterminating nematode
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a method for exterminating nematodes, having low toxicity to humans and exhibiting remarkable nematocidal effects without any fear of a bad influence, etc., on environmental pollution and growth of field crops and requiring complicated post-treatment, by applying A component for generating chlorine dioxide to soil. n CONSTITUTION: A composition for generating chlorine dioxide gas [e.g. a mixed dry composition of a metallic salt of chlorous acid, such as sodium chlorite or calcium chlorite, a reactant (e.g. calcium hypochlorite or calcium hypochlorite) reactive with the metallic salt and generating chlorine dioxide and an inert diluent (e.g. sodium hydrogencarbonate or diatomaceous earth) capable of generating chlorine dioxide by contacting moisture or steam therewith] is applied to soil to exterminate nematodes. The above-mentioned composition is effective in exterminating mites, gold beetles, soil bacteria, such as the genus Pythium or Rhizoctonia, soil fungi, such as the genus Fusarium, in addition to the nematodes. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
