titleOfInvention Primer composition for vulcanization bonding and bonding using the same
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the above compsn. for use in bonding of a metal to a peroxide-vulcanized rubber without causing uneven coating and without requiring high-temp. baking, by combining as the essential components an organosilane compd. having an unsatd. bond with a specific organometallic compd. as a bonding promotor and an org. solvent. n CONSTITUTION: An organosilane compd. having an unsatd. bond (e.g., γ- methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane) as an essential component is combined with an organotitanium compd. (e.g., tetraisopropyl titanate) or an organozirconium compd. (e.g., zirconium butyrate) as an essential bonding promotor for the above-mentioned organosilane compd. and an org. solvent (e.g., toluene) as another essential component to prepare a primer compsn. for vulcanization-bonding of a metal to a peroxide-vulcanized rubber. This compsn. does not cause uneven coating by virtue of nonuse of water, does not require high-temp. baking by virtue of high film-forming speed to enable sufficient air drying thereof at room temp., shows good adhesion to non-metals and inorg. materials as well, and improves the heat resistance of bonded materials. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
