PURPOSE: To provide the polyol which is formed by bringing a terephthalic acid component and alkoxylated amine, etc., into reaction and is adequate for raw materials of rigid polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams. n CONSTITUTION: The objective polyol having a hydroxyl number of preferably 100 to 500 is obtd. by mixing preferably ≥1.2 mol oxyalkylene glycol (e.g. diethylene glycol, etc.), to 1 mol polyethylene terephthalate and recovered polyethylene terephthalate and effecting reaction at, for example, 190 to 280°C, then removing the ethylene glycol while distilling the same and adding (B) preferably 1 to 5 wt.% bifunctional component (e.g. triethanol amine, etc.), such as alkoxylated amine, alkoxylated amide and a mixture thereof, and effecting reaction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO |
