abstract PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of softening and swell due to flame retardant working oil, by a method wherein a peroxide vulcanized substance of a nitrile rubber mixture containing a given iodine adsorbing amount of magnesium oxide as divalent metal oxide or a hydrogen added nitrile rubber mixture is used in a rubber material. n CONSTITUTION: An oil seal for flame retardant working oil is formed by a rubber material formed by a peroxide vulcanized substance of a nitrile rubber mixture, containing magnesium oxide having an iodine adsorbing amount of approximate 30W60mg/g as a divalent metal oxide, or a hydrogen added nitrile rubber mixture. During vulcanization of peroxide, by mixture of magnesium oxide, resistance to heat of rubber is improved, and softening and swell due to water contained in flame retardant working oil especially water-glycol series working oil is prevented from occurring, and a peroxide vulcanized substance can be effectively used as a rubber material of an oil seal. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
