abstract |
PURPOSE: To improve sensitivity and resolution and to prevent the fogging of an image by incorporating chlorine or bromine bonded with an aromatic group in an acid producing compound to give a specific pka value or to form a derivative of a compound having the pka value. n CONSTITUTION: In a positive radiation sensitive mixture containing the compound producing an acid by the action of high energy radiation and an acid decomposable compound, the acid producing compound contains chlorine or bromine bonded with the aromatic group and has the pka value of <12 or is the derivative of the compound having the pka value. An adequate acid producing initiator has at least one H atom to be removed as a proton in the pka range. The initiator includes a compound having particularly a carboxyl group, a phenolic OH group or the like. As a result, the relatively high sensitivity and the improved resolution are attained and the fogging of the image is not shown after developing with a water based alkaline developer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO |
