PURPOSE:To improve low-temperature reactivity and low-temperature selectivity by preparing an oxygen-deficient perovskite catalyst which has a composition represented by a specific general formula, and in which the A site is occupied by a rare earth element and the B site is occupied by a transition metal element. CONSTITUTION:An oxygen-deficient perovskite catalyst is prepared which has the composition represented by formula (I) (wherein A represents at least one element selected from Y and the rare earth elements A' represents at least one divalent element, B represents at least one transition metal element, and alphais 0 or 1). This catalyst can generally be prepared by mixing raw materials, which include an oxide, a carbonate compound, etc., with each other, calcining the mixture at 850-100 deg.C, and then pulverizing the calcined product by means of a pulverizer such as a ball mill. Preferably, the specific surface area of this catalyst is from 1-10m<2>/g. This catalyst can effectively be used in petroleum refining, reactions for the syntheses of organic compounds, treatments of waste gases, etc. |
