titleOfInvention | Ceramics coated graphite material |
abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a ceramic-coated graphite material which obviates the generation of cracks, can be made into large-sized shapes and is highly resistant to oxidation by impregnating or coating graphite base material with silicon carbide, silicon nitride or the composite thereof. n CONSTITUTION: This ceramics coated graphite material is impregnated or coated with the silicon carbide, silicon nitride or the composite thereof. The material can be formed by the following method: The soln. of the precursor of the silicon carbide, silicon nitride or the composite thereof is impregnated in the graphite base material and is dried; thereafter, the material is calcined in an inert atmosphere. The above-mentioned precursor is exemplified by polycarbosilane, polycarbosilazane or polysilazane. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
