titleOfInvention Photographic silver halide emulsion
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide emulsion which has excellent sharpness and is improved in pressure characteristic by having a high-iodine layer in a core and having a silver halochloride which is partially counted to halogen, silver thiocyanate or silver citrate in the particle. CONSTITUTION:The core part of the particle is formed of silver halide contg. 10-45mol% silver iodide and the silver salt having the solubility higher than the solubility of silver bromide is deposited during the course of particle forma tion after the core formation. Silver halochloride, silver thiocyanate or silver citrate are exemplified as the silver salt having the high solubility. The silver halide is deposited and is converted to the halogen while the shell part is formed by addition of an aq. silver nitrate soln. and aq. halide compd. further onto the silver salt having the solubility higher than the solubility of the silver bro mide. The silver halide particle of the core/shell type having the silver halochloride which is partially converted to halogen, silver thiocyanate or silver citrate in the particle is thus obtd. The emulsion which has the high sharpness and is improved in pressure characteristic is thereby obtd.
