abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a decrease in output of a fuel cell. A fuel cell 100 includes a membrane electrode assembly 10, first and second separators 11, 12, first and second seal members 13, 14, and a first oxidation catalyst section 15. The first seal member 13 is arranged between the first separator 11 and the membrane electrode assembly 10. The first sealing member 13 seals between the outer peripheral portion of the membrane electrode assembly 10 and the outer peripheral portion of the first separator 11. The second sealing member 14 is arranged between the second separator 12 and the membrane electrode assembly 10. The second sealing member 14 seals between the outer peripheral portion of the membrane electrode assembly 10 and the outer peripheral portion of the second separator 12. The first oxidation catalyst unit 15 is arranged between the first seal member 13 and the first electrode 3. The first oxidation catalyst unit 15 has an oxidation catalyst that is active in the oxidation reaction between the fuel supplied to the membrane electrode assembly 10 and the oxidizing agent.
