abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-purity 1,3-butylene glycol product which is odorless and hardly causes an increase in acid concentration with time even in a state containing water. SOLUTION: In gas chromatography analysis under specific conditions, when the relative retention time of the peak of 1,3-butylene glycol is 1.0, the relative retention time of the peak appears in the range of 1.35 to 1.45.
