abstract | The present invention provides a method for producing a flame retardant polyester that overcomes the disadvantages of poor stability and significant loss of phosphorus. (A) A combination of a bishydroxyalkyl terephthalate monomer of the formula (1) and an organic diacid monomer mixture containing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid monomer and a carboxyphosphinic acid monomer is subjected to an esterification reaction for esterification.
