abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel substance that emits blue light of excellent color purity, a light emitting element and a light emitting apparatus that employ the same therein. <P>SOLUTION: The stilbene derivative is represented by general formula (G1). Each of A<SP>1</SP>and B<SP>1</SP>in (G1) represents a substituent wherein a phenyl group is directly bonded to a nitrogen atom in a carbazole group, and the carbazole group and the phenyl group are substituted with a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group.
