abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing toner for electrostatic image development having characteristics such as fixing property suitable for higher image quality and speeding up, which can inexpensively produce polymer primary particles in a short time, and can accurately control the molecular weight and structure of a resin constituting the polymer primary particles and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes steps of producing a dispersant containing the polymer primary particles by an emulsion polymerization process; aggregating the polymer primary particles and a coloring agent to obtain a particle aggregate; and melting the polymer aggregate to produce toner base particles. In the emulsion polymerization process, the dispersant containing the polymer primary particles is produced by continuously supplying, while performing continuous emulsification of an aqueous solution containing at least one monomer, the resulting emulsion to a batch reactor to perform polymerization of the monomer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
