abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a thermoplastic copolymer, which is excellent in heat resistance, colorlessness/transparency and thermostability and causes less contamination with extraneous matters, and in which the content of a volatile ingredient is reduced, with economical superiority. <P>SOLUTION: The process for producing the thermoplastic copolymer comprises the steps of producing a copolymer (A) having an unsaturated alkyl carboxylate ester unit and an unsaturated carboxylic acid unit, subsequently heat-treating the copolymer (A), and subjecting the heat-treated copolymer (A) to the intramolecular cyclization reaction of the copolymer (A) by the dehydration and/or dealcoholization reaction, thereby producing a thermoplastic copolymer (B) having a glutaric anhydride unit and an unsaturated alkyl carboxylate ester unit continuously. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
