abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having high lightness and a high contrast ratio. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a colorfilter including a red filter segment containing a pigment, a green filter segment containing a pigment, and a blue filter segment containing a pigment; and a backlight unit using a three-wavelength region emission LED lamp as a light source. Light emitted from the three-wavelength region emission LED lamp has only a single luminance peak in each of regions of 400 to 485 nm, 485 to 585 nm, and 585 to 700 nm and has luminance peaks in regions of 450±20 nm, 520±20 nm, and 635±10 nm and has a W(cr) of ≥6.00 wherein W(cr) represents a contrast ratio as white. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
