abstract <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polycarbonate resin containing a component derived from a plant, improved in melting stability and melting moldability. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing stabilized polycarbonate restrained from the degradation of reduced viscosity in melt-molding is carried out by adding a sulfonate compound as a stabilizer in a state of the reduced viscosity of a reaction mixture being in a range of 0.1-1.0 dL/g in producing polycarbonate by carrying out the melt polycondensation of ether diol which is a raw material derived from a plant such as isosorbid, and glycol such as 1,3-propanediol in the presence of carbonic diester and a polycondensation catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&amp;INPIT
