abstract <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a hybrid vehicle capable of preventing behavior of a vehicle unintended by a driver at the start of an engine without inviting increase in cost and enlargement of the device. <P>SOLUTION: An engine start control means (Figure 7) includes: a friction torque calculating means (Steps S2 to S6) for calculating a value equivalent to friction torque; a cranking rotational frequency setting means (Step S7) for setting a cranking possible rotational frequency; and a shearing torque calculating means (Step S7) for setting a value equivalent to shearing torque, and allows cranking of an engine Eng when a second clutch CL2 is in an open state and the value equivalent to the friction torque is not less than the value equivalent to the shearing torque. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&amp;INPIT
