abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferroelectric liquid crystal composition which does not cause burn-in, suppresses inversion abnormality and shows desirable switching behavior, and a display element using the ferroelectric liquid crystal composition. <P>SOLUTION: The ferroelectric liquid crystal composition comprises a liquid crystalline mixture consisting of at least two liquid crystalline compounds and at least one lithium salt.
