abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide-based liquid crystal aligning agent that provides a liquid crystal alignment film, having excellent peeling property of the liquid crystal alignment film, proper rubbing durability of the coating film, and giving a large pretilt angle of a liquid crystal and that has preferred printing properties, even when the agent has a high imidization rate. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal aligning agent contains a polyimide (A) and a polyimide (B) in a mass ratio of 50:50 to 90:10, and contains 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone as a solvent.
