titleOfInvention | Method for producing alcohol having fluorene skeleton |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alcohol having a fluorene skeleton with significantly slight discoloration.
SOLUTION: The method for producing an alcohol having a fluorene skeleton, i.e. a 9,9-bis(hydroxyalkoxy-arylphenyl)fluorene äe.g. 9,9-bis[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)-3-phenylphenyl]fluorene} or 9,9-bis[di- to tetra(hydroxyalkoxy)phenyl]fluorene, by reaction, in the presence of an acid catalyst and a thiol compound, between a 9-fluorenone compound (e.g. 9-fluorenone) and an alcohol selected from an arylphenyl(hydroxyalkyl ether) or di- to tetra(hydroxyalkoxy)benzene, is provided; wherein the amount of the alcohol to be used is 3 mol or more per mol of the 9-fluorenone compound, and the amount of the thiol to be used is 3 pts.wt. or more based on 100 pts.wt. of the 9-fluorenone compound.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
