abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion cosmetic which is hard to ruin the makeup by the perspiration, has no feeling of stickiness, does not cause agglomeration precipitation even after a long time has elapsed, maintains a stable emulsion state, and can be easily washed off with soap after use, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The emulsion cosmetic contains a titanium oxide powder, a higher alcohol, an oily component other than the higher alcohol, and a polysaccharide including glucose, glucuronic acid, and rhamnose as monosaccharides constituting the main chain and fucose or mannose as a monosaccharide constituting a side chain and the content of the polysaccharide is set at 0.01-1 wt.% based on the entire amount of the cosmetic.
