abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blue colorant composition which is excellent in flow characteristics and is intended for forming a color filter with high color purity, high luminance and high contrast ratio, and to provide a color filter having high color purity, high luminance and high contrast ratio. <P>SOLUTION: The blue colorant composition comprises at least a copper phthalocyanine pigment, a dioxazine pigment, a resin and a solvent, wherein the half bandwidth of a peak at the diffraction angle 2θ=25-27° in X-ray diffraction spectrum analysis of the dioxazine pigment, determined using CuKα radiation as an X-ray source, is within the range of 0.55-0.85°.
