titleOfInvention | Process for producing polyether polyol containing natural oil and fat |
abstract | Disclosed is a process for producing a polyether polyol having good compatibility with an isocyanate compound at low cost by using a raw material derived from a natural oil-and-fat. Specifically disclosed is a process for producing a polyether polyol containing a material derived from a natural oil-and-fat by conducting the ring-opening polymerization of an alkylene oxide with an initiator in the presence of a polymerization catalyst, wherein the initiator is a polyol derived from a natural oil-and-fat which is produced by adding a hydroxy group to a natural oil-and-fat by a chemical reaction and which has a hydroxy value of 20 to 250 mgKOH/g and a ratio between the number average molecular weight in terms of polystyrene to the weight average molecular weight [i.e., a (Mw)/(Mn) ratio] of 1.2 or greater, and wherein the polymerization catalyst does not accelerate the hydrolysis of a glyceride structure derived from a natural oil-and-fat. |
