abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical compensation film of wide view field angle, the film having a phase difference layer having a polymerizable liquid crystalline compound, and reduced in a change of color tinge. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the optical compensation film has an application step, a drying step, an orientation step and a curing step, uses an active radiation irradiation device, a holding means and a temperature control means, in the curing step, irradiates an active radiation to a liquid crystal layer, while holding a resin film formed with the liquid crystal layer by the holding means, is constituted to bring a residual solvent amount of an organic solvent contained in the liquid crystal layer before fed to the curing step after coming out from the orientation step, into 0.10 g/m<SP>2</SP>-5.00 g/m<SP>2</SP>, and is constituted to have a relation of ¾T2-T1¾≤20.0°C between the temperature T1 of a surface of the liquid crystal layer before fed to the curing step after coming out from the orientation step, and the temperature T2 of the surface of the liquid crystal layer at the time point when a half of the active radiation is irradiated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
