titleOfInvention Polymer-based stent assembly
abstract
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer base stent which almost or completely does not show negative reaction related to relaxation when the stent is implanted into the blood vessel or the lumen of a mammal.
SOLUTION: There is provided a method for preparing a polymer base stent assembly provided with an inflatable balloon catheter and a polymer base stent resistant to relaxation-related negative reaction. The method includes: a step of heating a polymer cylindrical device having a predetermined final shape and diameter up to a temperature sufficiently higher than Tg of the polymer for a time sufficient for eliminating memory of prefabrication of the device; a step of, thereafter, quenching the device to provide the device trained to have memory of the predetermined final diameter and shape; and a step of attaching the trained cylindrical device to an inflatable balloon catheter.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
