titleOfInvention Surface plasmon sensor
abstract
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface plasmon sensor capable of measuring a refractive index and an extinction coefficient of a detection object with absorption, without being affected by photo-absorption, by simple constitution.
SOLUTION: This surface plasmon sensor is provided with a metal layer 6 formed on a prism 5 having light-transmitting properties in a wavelength of a light beam emitted from a light source 2, and contacting with a sample 14, and a photodetector 9 for detecting a reflected light from the metal layer 6 at each incident angle of the light beam, and detects the refractive index of the sample 14 by irradiating a face opposite to a face of the metal layer 6 contacting with the sample 14, with the light beam emitted from the light source 2, and the metal layer 6 is constituted of the first metal film 6a and the second metal film 6b formed adjacently on the prism 5 and different in film thicknesses, and is constituted to compare the reflected lights form the respective metal films.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
