abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel having the high usage efficiency of a polarizing plate and excellent display characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel is provided with a liquid crystal cell 10 having a liquid crystal layer 13 between first and second alignment substrates 11 and 12, a first polarizing plate 21 disposed at the first alignment substrate side of the liquid crystal cell 10, a second polarizing plate 22 disposed at the second alignment substrate side of the liquid crystal cell, a first optical rotation element 31 disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the first polarizing plate 21 and a second optical rotation element 32 disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the second polarizing plate 22.
