abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an epoxy compound, by which the epoxy compound corresponding to an unsaturated compound having at least one carbon-carbon double bond can be produced in a high yield. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing the epoxy compound, characterized by epoxidizing the unsaturated compound having at least one carbon-carbon double bond with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a basic nitrogen-containing compound and a catalyst comprising a tungsten compound, a quaternary ammonium salt and a phosphoric acid-related compound to produce an epoxy compound corresponding to the unsaturated compound.
